We provide Primary Care with a focus on prevention and health maintenance. We serve uninsured adults.* Clinic visits are by appointment.
In addition to primary care, we assist patients with access to medication and referrals for specialty care. We operate a series of programs, specifically the Navegantes and Vida Sana programs to help patients make lifestyle changes necessary to improve their overall health.
CEHC accepts adult patients subject to the following eligibility requirements:
- lack health insurance
- cannot afford health insurance
- are not currently in care with another low cost primary care clinic
* In RI, children are insured under the Children’s Health Insurance Program- CHIP.

Cheer- Walk-in Clinic
Monday thru Friday, we operate a walk in clinic called CHEER (Clínica Esperanza/Hope Clinic Emergency Room Diversion.)
Open M-F, 2 to 7 PM, CHEER addresses non-urgent health problems such as: flu shots and other vaccinations, skin problems, stomach upset, urinary infections, cold and flu symptoms, etc.
A registered nurse is available to see patients and a licensed physician is on call to provide assistance. The clinic is also staffed by medical and non-medical volunteers. Interpreter service is available for patients who do not speak English.
A clinic within a clinic, Amal serves the specific needs of Providence’s Islamic community. The Amal clinic operates each Saturday between 9AM – 3PM and is staffed by the doctors and other medical volunteers of the American Islamic Wellness Association (AIWA)
In partnership with the Carefree Clinic, an organization created and staffed by the students of Brown University, CEHC conducts a series of free health screening events. Health fairs are located at CEHC and at a variety of locations in the greater Providence community.
