CHEER Clinic Information

CHEER Clinic is for uninsured patients who need same-day sick appointments. Please read on to learn what can and cannot be treated in CHEER and how to make an appointment. 
Spanish medical interpreters are available for all patients.

CHEER is for non-emergency, acute medical needs which can include, but are not limited to:

  • General malaise

  • ​Ear infection symptoms

  • Urinary tract infection symptoms

  • ​Upper respiratory infection symptoms (cough, sore throat, body aches, fever, etc.)

  • Hospital admission/emergency room follow-ups

  • Pre-employment physicals

There are certain medical issues that the clinic DOES NOT address in CHEER, which can include, but are not limited to:

  • Emergency care - call 911 or go to the emergency room if you are experiencing:

    • Chest pain or heart attack symptoms

    • Stroke symptoms

    • Vomiting

    • Trauma or severe injury (ex: broken bone, large laceration, active bleeding, head injury)

    • Shortness of breath or choking

    • Sudden and severe symptoms​

  • Care for insured individuals

  • Care for individuals under 18

  • Medication refills

how to make an appointment

How to make a same-day sick appointment:

  1. Call the CHEER phone number between 9am and 12pm on the same day you'd like to be seen: (401) 347-9093 and press option 1

  2. Patients will be triaged by CEHC clinical staff and scheduled for a same-day sick appointment between 1 and 4pm.
  3. ​If you cannot make your same-day appointment, please call the clinic as soon as possible so that it can be given to another patient.

CHEER Appointment Hours
Monday: 1-4pm
Tuesday: 1-4pm
Wednesday: 1-4pm
Thursday: 1-4pm
There is no CHEER on Fridays.

What to bring to your appointment:

  • Photo identification

    • Examples: drivers license, passport, state identification card

  • All medications you are currently taking
  • Medical records
  • Immunization records
  • Pre-employment/school physical paperwork (if applicable)
  • Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to complete required paperwork!

Important Reminders

  • CEHC does NOT provide care to insured individuals. If you have insurance, please utilize your PCP, nearest urgent care facility, or PCHC's Express Clinic. You will NOT be seen if you have insurance!

  • Appointments are made on a first call, first served basis. Space is limited!​

  • Please call and leave one voicemail if you are unable to get through. Calling multiple times and leaving multiple voicemails may delay our team's ability to schedule your appointment.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 and go to the emergency room.
You will NOT be seen in CHEER if you are experiencing a medical emergency!
